Typically, this process takes around 1-2 days from the cargo’s arrival date at the seaport and is usually completed on the same day. Importing goods into Thailand necessitates the payment of import duties on all items originating from other countries. It’s important to note that there is a distinct tax system for goods originating from outside of Thailand, which differs from the tax system applied to domestically produced goods.

The following are mandatory customs clearance documents when importing into Thailand

When importing cargo into Thailand, it is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that all required customs clearance documents are provided. The following documents should be submitted by the importer or their authorized customs agent to the customs office at the port of entry or electronically through the e-Customs system:

• Packing List: This document provides a detailed list of all items being imported, including their country of origin and HS code.
• Commercial Invoice: It should include the commercial value of the goods in USD.
• Bill of Lading: This document serves as proof of shipment and provides details about the cargo and its transportation.
• Arrival Notice: This notice informs the recipient about the arrival of the cargo.

For non-EU goods valued over €6,000 that do not require a declaration, a commercial invoice is necessary. For further guidance on importing into Thailand, it is advisable to consult the Thailand Federal Customs Office.

HS codes, also known as Tariff codes or Customs codes, are unique ten-digit numbers used to describe products and determine customs duties and import taxes for shipments entering Thailand. HS codes consist of three parts: the first two digits represent the heading, the third digit represents the subheading, and the fourth digit represents the first four digits of the six-digit product code.

For example: 8703.91.00

In this case, 8703 represents the heading, and 91 represents the four-digit product code within this section (9100).

HS codes are essential for calculating import duties and taxes when importing goods into Thailand, especially for businesses engaged in international trade with Thai companies.

Express door delivery provides a faster option for door-to-door shipping. It ensures swift transportation and delivery of your goods, prioritizing speed. However, the cost of express services is generally higher than both trucking and ground services.

DDP shipping is particularly advantageous for Amazon FBA shipping, business addresses, and private addresses.

1. Outer Packaging: Besides the original packaging of the cargo, ensure that the outer carton is new and robust. It is recommended to use transparent tape for sealing the carton, while avoiding the use of colored tape.

2. Weight Limits: For DDP shipping from China to Thailand, the weight limit ranges from 11kg to 21kg. The maximum gross weight allowed for each waybill is 30kg.

3. Minimum Chargeable Weight: The minimum chargeable weight per shipment for DDP shipping is 100kg. Please ensure that the combined weight of all items does not exceed 30kg to comply with the maximum weight limit.
